Obituary of Donna LaRochelle

Donna Jean LaRochelle of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, passed away on June 3, 2025, at the Regina General Hospital, at the age of 65, surrounded by the unwavering love of her family.

Donna was born on August 23, 1959, in Gravelbourg. Donna was the fourth child of Larry and Minnie (Neubecker) Nugent. She graduated from Gravelbourg High School and married her soulmate, Alfred LaRochelle, on May 28, 1977. Together, they were blessed with four children: Dawn (1977), Angela (1980), Adrien (1982), and Devon (1987).

Donna dedicated many years of service as a special care aide at St. Joseph Hospital, where she found great joy and purpose in caring for others. Her compassionate nature touched the lives of many. She loved riding horses and had a deep passion for raising her beloved poodles. Her cherished poodle family brought her great happiness.

Above all, Donna treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. Many special vacations and family moments will forever be remembered with love.

Donna is lovingly remembered by her husband Alfred LaRochelle; her daughters Dawn (Matthew) Shire, and Angela (Darren) Costley; her sons Adrien (Kelsey) LaRochelle and Devon LaRochelle; and her grandchildren: Aurora and Ella; Nolan, Regan, Ashton and Jaxon; AJ, Cooper, Carson and Kendal; Memphis and Noah; mother Minnie Nugent;  brother Lewis (Linda) Nugent;  sisters MaryLynn (Renaud) LaRochelle, Pamela (Andrew) Woloshyn and their families. Donna also leaves to mourn Alfred’s siblings and their families.  She was predeceased by her father Larry Nugent, brother Leonard Nugent and granddaughter Josiah Shire.

A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 8:00 p.m., with Father Martial Kouame presiding. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with celebrant Father John-Baptist Okai, both at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan. Donna will be laid to rest at the Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery.
