Obituary of Carolyn Karst

Carolyn Karst (née Askeland)
August 1, 1955 – September 26, 2025

With grateful hearts, the family of Carolyn Karst announces her peaceful passing on September 26, 2025, at age 70. Carolyn’s earthly journey ended in the embrace of her Lord and Savior.

Born in Assiniboia to Thelmer and Josephine Askeland, Carolyn married Barry Karst on February 1, 1975. Together they farmed, raised three children, and built a home filled with love, faith, and hospitality. Widowed in 1995, Carolyn met life’s challenges with quiet strength, daily prayer, and devotion to family and the farm.

She is lovingly remembered by children Karlene (Gaetano), Trenton (Ashley), and Kristin (Terry); eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved Barry and her parents.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at the Messiah Lutheran Church, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prairie Villa in her memory, Box 1107 Assiniboia, SK, CA, S0H 0B0.
