Obituary of Elvira Howe
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Elvira Rosalie Howe (nee Wuschke), on May 22, 2026, in Weyburn, Sask.
Born on January 26, 1945, in Gravelbourg, Sask., Elvira was the cherished daughter of Gustav Wuschke and Adelgunda Altstadt. She grew up on the Wuschke farm north of Mossbank until she was five, when the family moved into town. She was predeceased by her sister, Marcy Ida Orten, and her brothers, Fred, Ron, and Ewald. Elvira is survived by her daughters, Rhobin McCollin and Barbara Howe, her grandchildren Jaidyn and Samarah McCollin, her sister Eva (Percy) Keil, her brother Leon Wuschke and her many nieces and nephews.
Elvira was an accomplished hairstylist, artist, and crafter who touched countless lives through her generosity and gentle spirit. She had a passion for pottery, leatherworking, and crafts. An avid animal lover, she took in all the stray cats that found their way to her door. Her home was always a place of comfort and welcome.
Elvira filled every room with warmth, kindness, and laughter. Her life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love will forever guide us, and her memory will live on in our hearts.
A private family service will be held on May 30, 2026, at St. Matthew’s Cemetery, followed by a reception at the 50 Plus Club in Mossbank, Sask. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan in her memory.
