Obituary of Lillian Sowa

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Sowa (nee Huber) of Hodgeville, Saskatchewan, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 29, 2026, at the Herbert Integrated Health Facility in Herbert, Saskatchewan.

Lillian was a woman who truly left her mark on the Hodgeville community. Through her generosity, kindness, and unwavering dedication, she helped build and strengthen the community she loved. Her influence will be felt for generations, and her legacy lives on in the many people and places she touched throughout her life.

Lillian is predeceased by her husband Kasper Sowa (2017); daughter Debra (nee Sowa) Beckett (2023); granddaughter Natasha (nee Beckett) Goebel (2010); son-in-law Ross Turnbull (2022); parents Karl and Lena (nee Fischer) Huber; brother Gilbert Huber; sisters Lorraine (Jim) Aasen and Ruby (Gerald) Funk.

Lillian leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Bev Turnbull and Arleen (Wayne) Bochek. Her great granddaughter Bonnie Goebel, granddaughter Melanie Beckett and great grandson Kalen, grandson Ryan (Alicia) Beckett and great grandson Colton (Kandice); grandson Dustin (Karen)Turnbull, great grandchildren Zoey and Emily, granddaughter Megan Turnbull (Landis Meyer), great grandchildren Daxton and Lindley; granddaughter Lacey Bochek (Mike Kettler)  and great granddog Cody, grandson Jordan (Jillian) Bochek, great grandchildren Brylee and Barrett.

While we mourn her passing, we are grateful for the example she set and the life she lived so well. Thank you, Lillian, for everything. You will not be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Hodgeville Community Hall.
