Obituary of Donna Bell

Donna Beth Bell (nee Sinclair), 80, of Assiniboia, SK, passed away on August 14^th, 2026, at the Assiniboia Union Hospital.

Donna was born on September 9, 1945, in Assiniboia, SK, to Herbert and Vinona Sinclair. She attended school at the Arlie School and Progress Hill School before graduating from Assiniboia High School, class of 1963.  Donna moved to Regina, SK to continue her education, training to become a nurse at the Grey Nuns from 1963 to 1966. While in Regina, Donna met Gordon Bell; they lovingly married June 17, 1967.

Donna and Gordon raised their two sons, Geoffrey and Christopher, in Regina, SK and Calgary, AB, until 1986, when they returned home to Assiniboia, SK. Donna resumed her nursing career with the Saskatchewan Health Authority in 1988 at Ross Payant in Assiniboia, until she retired from nursing in 2010.

Donna is predeceased by her loving husband Gordon Bell; her parents Herbert and Vinona Sinclair; her in-laws Russell and Marie Bell; sisters-in-law Sheila, Brenda and brother-in-law David Holly.

Donna is survived by her two sons, Geoffrey (Jessica) Bell and Christopher (Nadine) Bell. Grandsons Derek, Carson and Aaron Bell, great-grandchildren Zayden Hicks and Leah Newton- Bell. Donna’s sister Denise (Robert) Girouard, brothers Leon (Marilyn) Sinclair and Cameron Sinclair, along with their families. Gordon’s sisters Louise Bell and Carole (Richard) Ward and family.

A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Piche Hawkins Grondin Funeral Chapel, 601 Highway 2 North, Assiniboia, SK, with Les Wilcox officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna’s memory can be given to help in the education and training of upcoming nurses in Saskatchewan.
