Obituary of Yvonne Hoffos

With heavy hearts, but full of gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Yvonne Marie Leontine (née LeTilly) Hoffos, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 94, in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan.

Yvonne was born on April 1, 1932, the daughter of Alexander LeTilly and Marie LeTilly (Hamonic), who had immigrated together to Canada in 1907 from the small Celtic town of Plumeliau in Brittany, France. She was one of seven children, growing up alongside her 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She was educated at the Sisters of the Cross Catholic convent boarding school in Lafleche, Saskatchewan, where the foundation of her deep and lifelong faith was formed.

On June 10, 1953, Yvonne married the love of her life, Dallas Walter Hoffos, and together they built a beautiful, big family filled with love and laughter. Yvonne dedicated her life fully to her role as a mother and farmer's wife, while also serving her community as the town's Justice of the Peace and working at Carole's Creations. In her younger years, she worked at the post office and the local newspaper.

Yvonne is survived by her children: Gloria Porter (Jack), Gayle Krauss (Richard Rizzo), Jason Hoffos (Michele), Perry Hoffos, Betty Lawson (Perry), and Jackie Moneo (Todd); along with 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished dearly.

Yvonne lived a full and vibrant life, always surrounded by the people she loved. She traveled to many corners of the world, seeing far more of it than most ever will. She had a passion for playing cards and could spend countless happy hours over a game of Scrabble. A proud and avid cheerleader of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, her devotion to the team was matched only by her devotion to her faith.

Above all, Yvonne was a woman of extraordinary faith — a woman who led her life like an angel, full of grace and patience. She found beauty in every single day and remained steadfastly devoted to her Catholic faith and to prayer throughout her life. For an astonishing 71 years, she was a faithful member of the Catholic Women's League of Canada.

Yvonne's legacy is one of love, laughter, resilience, and unwavering faith. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM at St. George's Roman Catholic Church in Assiniboia, with a lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. George Catholic Women's League Box 505 Assiniboia, SK S0H 0B0.
