Obituary of Diane Green

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Diane Aline Green (née Clermont), who passed away on September 25, 2026, at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 81 years.

Diane was born on September 6, 1945, in Lafleche, Saskatchewan, to Germain and Yvette Clermont. She married her soulmate, Allan Green, on September 26, 1964, in Gravelbourg, SK. Together, they built their life on a farm seven miles north of Gravelbourg, where they raised their family and created a lifetime of cherished memories.

They were blessed with two children, their son, Denis Allan, born on March 17, 1965, and their daughter, Roxane Chantale Marie, born on July 3, 1976. Family was everything to Diane, and being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy. Her love for her family was at the heart of everything she did, and she treasured the time they spent together.

In 1969, Diane began working at the Gravelbourg Courthouse as a Deputy Local Registrar and Sheriff. She dedicated 25 years to her position until the Saskatchewan Government closed the courthouse in 1993. She was then transferred to the Assiniboia Courthouse, where she continued working until June 2004, when that facility also closed.

Outside of work, Diane and Allan enjoyed a full and happy life together. They loved playing cards with friends and neighbours and were season ticket holders for the Swift Current Broncos for many years. Eventually, they became snowbirds, spending time enjoying the sunshine in Mesa, Arizona.

Diane was a woman of many talents and was happiest when keeping her hands busy. She enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, making porcelain dolls, knitting, crocheting, and, especially, scrapbooking. Scrapbooking became a special passion she shared with Roxane, and the two enjoyed many wonderful weekends together creating treasured keepsakes and preserving family memories.

Diane and Allan also loved travelling and exploring new places together. After Allan's passing in 2014, Diane continued to travel with her family, enjoying memorable adventures, including trips to Alaska, a trip through the Panama Canal, and a family vacation to Mexico. These experiences created lasting memories that her family will always hold close to their hearts.

In 2009, Diane and Allan moved into Gravelbourg due to Allan’s declining health. Following Allan’s passing in 2014, Diane continued to embrace life and find joy in the simple pleasures. She treasured spending time with her grandsons and welcomed a precious little Yorkie named Sugar into her life. Diane also purchased a camper and loved spending time with family at Gaumond Bay, where they enjoyed playing board games, Tile Rummy, and cards together. Her kitchen was always a gathering place for family, filled with the warmth and comfort of her home-cooked meals, along with plenty of homemade sweets and treats.

Diane's love, warmth, creativity, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved and in the countless memories she leaves behind.

Diane was predeceased by her beloved husband Allan, in 2014; her parents, Germain and Yvette (Bourgeois) Clermont, both in 1997; her brother, Claude Clermont, in 1966; mother-in-law Evelyn (Lefort) Green in 1989 and father-in-law Roy Green in 1992.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving family; her son Denis Green; her daughter Roxane (Chad) Young; and her two beloved grandsons Daniel Green and Matteo Young; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Iris (Laurie) Davidson; Carole (Bob) Gamble; Linda (Alan) Schmidt; Donald (Denise) Green; Stella (Brian) Nordick; and Diane (Real) Deaust.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Diane will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane's memory may be made to STARS, 2640 Airport Road, Regina, SK  S4W 1A3.
