Obituary of Rylan Desnoyers

Sadly on June 23, 2023, Rylan Desnoyers, beloved son of Dara Cowan and Joseph Desnoyers, passed away unexpectantly at the age of 12 years old. Rylan was born on August 27, 2010, in Moose Jaw. For the first few years of his life, he was a quiet little boy who was very happy to just listen to his older brother and watch others. Then all of a sudden at the age of 4, he came out of his shell, and became a charming personality who just loved being with others. While living at Coderre, he received his schooling at the Ecole Gravelbourg School. In 2019, they moved to Moose Jaw and Rylan attended Lindale School. After living in Mexico for a short time, they returned to their Buffalo Pound acreage, and Rylan was delighted to again be back with his friends at Lindale School, where he recently received his grade 7 diploma. That was an amazing, happy moment for him, Rylan was so proud of that achievement. For him, school was a challenge, but he was really there to socialize with his friends. He was a jokester in the classroom and loved to see everyone happy. He was always ready to stand up for others that were being picked on. You never saw him without a smile on his face. He loved to dress up and was never afraid to try new fashions. He loved hockey and animals (especially kitties) and was always messaging his friends. He noticed all vehicles, loved surfing the network and discovering new things. He was forever making up new sayings. His greatest enjoyment was listening to Rap music. Without a doubt, music was his thing. Rylan touched many with his happy and caring heart for life and others.

He is survived by his mother Dara Cowan, his father Joseph Desnoyers, his brother Jace, his grandmother Lyla Cowan, grandparents Dale (Debbie) Cowan, grandparents: Jerry and Mable Desnoyers, (cousins: Leila Oar, Colt Desnoyers, and Rex Bassingthwaite): his uncle Clair (Tracey) Cowan and family: Jason, Katrina (Alex) and son Emmett, Kevin (Isabella) and daughters Autumn and Raina; uncle Todd Cowan; aunt Denise Heimlick and children: Derek, Colby, Cali (children Krystyn and Carter); uncle Michael (Sheri) Kupper and children Russel (Laci), Doyle and Braelyn; auntie Amanda (Chad) McCrystal and children Ty, Madisyn and Hudson, two very special school friends, Ciara and Hunter (my buddy) and numerous Desnoyers – Hawkins aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Service to Celebrate Rylan’s life, will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 (4:00 p.m.) at Connor Park Pavilion (Wakamow Valley), 9th Avenue South, Moose Jaw, Sask. BBQ will be served following the service.
