Elridge Dwaine Stianson, the youngest of 5 children born to Elling and Hazel Stianson (née Waginuis), peacefully passed away at Assiniboia Union Hospital on August 27, 2023. He was born on July 10, 1938, in Assiniboia, SK, and attended Middle Valley School near his family farm. On July 22, 1961, he married his beloved soulmate Yvette Giraudier in Willow Bunch, SK. Together, they farmed in the Ormiston district, raising three children: Laurie (born June 25, 1963), Leonard (born November 28, 1964), and Audrey (born June 1, 1967).

Elridge was passionate about farming, loved playing the fiddle, hunting all types of game, and everything related to John Deere. Music held a special place in his heart, becoming a cherished Sunday tradition. He dedicated many years to driving the school bus to Ormiston and Crane Valley. He also worked at the Ormiston Salt Mine, engaged in riprap road building, custom spraying, and grew potatoes with great affection.

Music was a significant part of his life, and he found joy in listening to his wife Yvette's beautiful singing. They often danced together and attended Polka Fests, dance events at Danceland in Watrous, and Sunday music jam sessions in Plentywood. Elridge maintained a constant smile, however, there were moments when his competitive side emerged during a game of shuffleboard and whist games.

In 2007, Elridge and Yvette moved to Assiniboia for better healthcare access. They enjoyed activities like playing cards, watching curling and the Blue Jays, and socializing. He deeply loved Yvette and credited her as his rock. His children brought him immense happiness and was especially proud that Lenny continued the farming tradition. Time spent with his three beautiful granddaughters, Janine, Jenna and Leah, filled his heart with immeasurable joy. Yvette's passing in 2021 was a difficult time for him. Visits with his great-grandson Keldan and Denem provided solace and happiness. Daily walks were a source of contentment for him, taking him along the truck route and to the fairgrounds. He was a man of camaraderie, cherished by family and friends alike. He will be dearly missed.

Elridge is survived by his daughter Laurie Stianson (Rick Moore), son Leonard Stianson (Gwen Nesvold), granddaughter Janine Stianson (Red Funk), great-grandson Keldan, granddaughter Jenna (Calvin) Peterson, great-grandson Denem, daughter Audrey Stianson, and granddaughter Leah (Kyle) Smith. He also leaves behind his sister Alice Lohmeyer. He now rests in heaven with his wife Yvette, parents Elling and Hazel Stianson, sisters Pearl (John) Bolton, Gerty (Frank) Hagley, and Blanche Stianson, and brother-in-law Bill Lohmeyer.
