Obituary of Leary Mulvena

Leary Brian Mulvena

August 1, 1954- September 17, 2023

Leary Brian Mulvena was born on August 1, 1954 to Cynthia (Taylor) and Bill Mulvena in Rockglen, Saskatchewan. Leary grew up on the family farm southeast of Killdeer where he made his home and livelihood as a rancher until the time of his passing.

Leary was a lover of ranch life, music, vintage vehicles and farm equipment. Laughter. Rodeo heroes. The ladies. Poetry. Popcorn.

Jack Daniels with orange juice.

Coffee shops. Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Big Bud tractors. All things Irish.

He loved to drive truck and haul cattle. He possessed the kindest of souls and an unbreakable loyalty. He had an ability to tell magnificent tales. If Leary was your friend, he would go to the ends of the earth for you. He could find almost any vehicle, any engine or part within an hours notice. As one of his friends said, “You could ask Leary to find you the nose hair from a Unicorn and it would be in Ophiem within two days.”

Leary will be forever missed by his sister Kate Snyder of Melaval, SK and her children, daughter Karen, (Corey,) and their daughters MacKenna, Ava and Addison Ellis of Melaval. SK, son Matthew (Terri) and their children Grady and Alli Sewell of Rocky Mountain House, AB as well as many dear cousins and lifelong and new friends who were like family.
