Obituary of Clarke Walburger
It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth Clarke Walburger of Wood Mountain announces his passing on November 10, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents Ted and Sharlene Walburger (nee Lash). He is survived by his 4 siblings Jane (Ken Reese), Judy (Jerry Stringham), Joy (Kim Christensen), and Conrad (Joanne).
He was born in Magrath, Alberta in 1960 and grew up on the family farm in Del Bonita, Alberta. He took to farming and agriculture at a very young age. He started out by milking cows, advanced to custom combining and then settled into his role as a farmer.
He married Martha Smith in 1984 in Cut Bank, MT. They were blessed with 2 children Ross (Brooke) and Ashley (Cody Echevarria). He was very proud of his children and their accomplishments, his favorite accomplishments being their children, his grandchildren; Lincoln, Linder, Haze and Holden.
Clarke loved to farm, hunt, fish, and rope. He farmed many acres but always made time for his other loves as well. One of his biggest roping accomplishments was winning the Canadian Senior Pro High Point title in 2000. He loved to tell stories of Duck Lake and hunting in the mountains.
In 2008 the Walburgers relocated to Wood Mountain, Saskatchewan and settled right in. They were welcomed with open arms. Clarke’s last 15 years were filled with branding adventures, many hours with neighbors drinking coffee, and telling stories. To know Clarke was to laugh with Clarke. He kept us all on our toes and is going to be greatly missed.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Carulei and the staff at the Assiniboia Union Hospital for their special support and care for Clarke and our family in his last days of life.
In lieu of flowers people can make donations in Clarke's memory to The Wood Mountain Rec Club.
A celebration of life will be held for Clarke Saturday, November 18th, 2023 at 3:00pm at the Killdeer Community Hall, Killdeer SK, Canada.
