Obituary of Therese Lizee

Thérèse Marie Georgeana Lizée of Gravelbourg, SK, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the age of 87 years. Thérèse was born near Cantal, SK on May 6, 1926, to Louis and Evelina (nee Gauthier) Germain. Thérèse attended Cantal and St. Louis country schools, and helped with chores on the farm. During the 40s she also had a job milking cows. Thérèse married Omer Lizée on December 20, 1947, at St. Clement Cathedral in Montreal. After a short stay in Montreal, they returned to Saskatchewan and took over the Lizée family farm. Thérèse and Omer raised cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys and owned a couple of horses. Omer and Thérèse operated a mixed grain farm, which they took great pride in. All of their buildings were painted red and had a green roof. The machinery, land, yard and garden were always impeccable and well maintained; all evidence of their hard work. There was always something for Omer to fix or invent, and Thérèse was always right behind him with a paint brush. Thérèse was a hard worker, and always took a project on with a smile. She wanted to set forth a positive working environment for future generations. Omer and Thérèse retired from farming in 1979, and retired to Gravelbourg. For 19 years Thérèse and Omer enjoyed the winter months in Mesa, AZ, and from 1994 to 2003 they enjoyed their summer months at Regina Beach. Thérèse was very committed to her family and treasured spending time with them. She was always early to family gatherings and could be counted on for a phone call and card for special occasions. She was always more concerned about everyone else than herself. Thérèse will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of having her in their lives, and her memory will continue to live on forever in all of their hearts. Thérèse is survived by her loving family, husband of 66 years Omer Lizée; son Hector (Audrey) Lizée, grandson Jason Lizée (Lisa Bartolf), great granddaughter Jayda, grandson Collin Lizée (Tammy Bickner), great grandson Blayze, granddaughter Tanya (Kevin) Schmidt, great granddaughter Jersey; daughter Rita (Lyle) Csada, grandson Corey (Charity) Csada, great grandchildren Alivia, Owen, grandson Nathan (Jolene) Csada, great grandchildren Gabriella, Arianna, grandson Travis (Alyssa) Csada, granddaughter Vicki Csada; son Lucien (Wanda) Lizée granddaughter Rébecca (Brad) Righi, granddaughter Natalie (Kris) Braun, granddaughter Tiffany Lizée (James Mjaatveit), grandson Benoit Lizée; sister Annette Donais; brother-in-law Gerard (Lucille) Lizée. She is predeceased by her parents Louis and Evelina (nee Gauthier) Germain; brother Hérvé Germain; sister Rose (Stan) Germain; brothers-in-law Paul Donais, Eugene (Juliette) Lizée, Armand (Leona) Lizée; sister-in-law Irene (Felix) Tetreault. Prayers were held on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. and Funeral Service on Monday, March 17, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., both at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK, with Reverend Linda Tomlinson-Seebach officiant.
