As postmaster of Ferland Post Office, I got to know Paul & Hélène. Paul or Hélène stopped in regularly either to bring garden cucs or just to say hi. It was an always a pleasure to visit with them. I remember when I was cleaning out the shrubs surrounding the post office yard, I had most of them cut off & Paul came along after hours & removed & hauled off all the branches. He loved being busy and enjoyed lending a helping hand whether it was asked for not. It was a common site when after he had to go on oxygen - to see him zipping by on his quad with an oxygen tank riding on the back, off to who knows where to do whatever he decided needed done. Nothing to much slowed him down. It was such a pleasure to have known both of them
Our Sincere Condolences to Carmen and Rick and their families. Paul will be missed by all who knew him with his dry sense of humour. Rest in peace, my friend.
Bring the youngest of the brother-in-laws, Paul took me aside to help him BBQ his hamburger. After adding his “special” spices we walked over to the barbecue. With burger in hand, he lifted it up to the sun. After 5 or so seconds he turned the burger over and held it in the sun for another 5 or so seconds. Looked at me with that devilish grin and said “don’t want to over cook it.” He sat down with his burger and started eating it. My introduction to steak tartar courtesy Paul!!
