Obituary of Annette Brin

Annette Brin of Moose Jaw, SK and formerly Coderre, SK, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the age of 50 years. Annette was born September 26, 1963, in Gravelbourg, SK. She was the youngest child of Leo and Aline (nee Perras) Brin, and a baby sister to Leona and Daniel. Life on the family farm south west of Coderre was never boring and held many adventures, such as camping, picnics and swimming in the park. Annette attended school in Coderre and was involved with basketball, volleyball, curling, and drama. Annette was very proud to win the best actress award in her second year of drama. After high school graduation, she attended STI for her secretarial certificate. Annette entered the work force, but decided to further her education at the SIAST Palliser Campus, earning her accountancy diploma. Her career took her from Assiniboia to Gravelbourg, and then to Moose Jaw. Annette loved to meet new people and chat about what interests they shared. She never forgot a name or face, and she always took the time to say "hello” and ask "how are you doing?” to someone she knew. Annette loved to watch ball games, and when she lived close to Shamrock Regional Park she would volunteer to keep score all day under the blazing sun. Annette also enjoyed watching curling, Saskatchewan Riders football, hockey, the Spurs NBA team, and Wrestle Mania. She was an avid reader and loyal fan of Danielle Steel books. Annette had almost an entire collection of these books, which she had recollected a second time following the devastating fire of her apartment block five and a half years ago. She was also a passionate cat lover. Mitsi, then Cuddles, were well loved and cherished pets and companions. Country music was her genre and she enjoyed numerous concerts at the Mae Wilson Theatre in Moose Jaw. Annette loved camping, which was her getaway to enjoy peace and quiet with nature. Annette was a woman of strong faith. She was involved with the SEARCH meeting for young Catholics, and volunteered for many church activities, such as reading, and ministry in Coderre, Gravelbourg and Moose Jaw. Annette also served on Parish Council at Church of Our Lady in Moose Jaw. She was so proud to be an auntie at the young age of thirteen, and loved to have a little baby snuggled on her shoulder. At family gatherings, if there was a little baby it was sure to be found snuggled on Annette’s shoulder. The next generation was the same, and Annette treasured her great nieces and nephews. She was eagerly awaiting the new arrivals coming this year. Her family all have cross-stitch wedding invitations, baby announcements, pictures, and Christmas ornaments, made with love by Annette. Every person in the family, including the newest baby, each have personalized Christmas ornaments with their name on it, since 2004. These cross-stitch master pieces by Annette will be adorned in her family’s homes forever. Annette never missed a birthday or anniversary, and her family always received greetings for their special days. There were gifts for everyone at Christmas, and the gifts to the kids were always a hit. Annette truly had a heart of gold. She was a beloved daughter and sister, cherished auntie, dedicated co-worker and volunteer, and a loyal friend. Annette will be dearly missed and memories of her will be treasured always. Annette was the beloved daughter of Aline (nee Perras) and the late Leo (2005) Brin; sister of Leona (Dave) Carvell and Daniel (Brenda) Brin; auntie to 7 nieces, 1 nephew and 14 great nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, Coderre, SK. Con-celebrants were Father Maurice Minne and Father Carlos Jimenez. Cross bearer was niece Daylene Carvell. Readers were nieces Alison Watson and Natasha Bouvier. Intentions were shared by niece Kendra Johnstone. Offertory gifts were presented by nieces Jennifer Troy and Kristin Ziegler. Music by the St. Charles Choir. The eulogy was shared by Annette’s sister Leona Carvell. Urn bearers were Annette’s God children, nephew and niece Nathan Brin and Melissa Kaip. Interment took place at the Coderre Roman Catholic Cemetery.
