Obituary of Joyce STARK
Joyce Evangeline Stark (Wood) was born September 5, 1930 in North Tryon, PEI to Raymond and Adelaide Wood who were potato farmers. She grew up on the farm with her four younger siblings Verna, Garth, George, and JoAnn. She loved to spend every July and August at the family’s cottage at the beach. She
completed her Lab Technology program and moved to Regina and became a medical Technologist with the provincial lab. She formed an adult singles club where she met Harry Stark. Harry and Joyce were married February 14, 1976 and honeymooned in Florida. They moved to Mossbank to farm. Joyce and Harry were world travellers and travelled to Holland, Sweden, Iceland, New Zealand, Australia, Cuba, Russia, Germany, Ireland, Alaska, Hawaii, and many other places. Joyce was a very faithful volunteer who helped out with
Boy Scouts, Mossbank Library Board, 50+ Club, Mossbank Golf Club and Rink. She was an avid curler, ball player, golfer, crib and bridge player, and bowled in her later years. Joyce loved to play sports and watch sports on TV. Every summer she would go home to PEI to spend time with her family at the cottage as
she did growing up. In April 2013 Joyce and Harry moved to Moose Jaw and due to health reasons, Joyce moved to Providence Place. Joyce continued to bowl and curl even in a wheelchair and was still up for a game of crib or a trip to the casino right till she passed away on August 2, 2014. Joyce is predeceased
