Obituary of Beverley PANIEC
Beverley Marlene Paniec passed away suddenly at her home on September 10, 2014. Beverley leaves to cherish her daughter Christina, son-in-law Richard, sister Dolores, and extended family and friends.
Bev was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Gravelbourg on November 24, 1945, to Adam and Louise Kohlenberg. She began school in 1951, attending a little country school, Busch School, until moving to Bateman, where she continued her education through high school. She attended Concordia University College for a couple of years before starting work as a bank teller with the Toronto-Dominion Bank in Hodgeville. She later transferred to Edmonton where she met the love of her life, James Paniec. They were married on November 26, 1975 and where blessed with one child, Christina. They had the opportunity to live several places throughout their life together, including Edmonton, Regina, Calgary, Yorkton, Camrose, and Sherwood Park, until Jim’s passing on July 10, 1998, after which she returned to Regina and lived at Grace Lutheran Place for several years. She spent her last 10 years living with her daughter and son-in-law in Edmonton.
Bev was an avid curler in her younger years and was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Yorkton. She enjoyed attending church, listening to her bible on tape, and found comfort in the companionship of the church. She enjoyed watching curling, hockey (go Oilers!), and football (Go Roughriders!) on T.V., and was always up for a game of Canasta. She loved knitting and spending time with animals, and combined the two by spending sunny afternoons outside with Samson, knitting.
She was a kind and patient mother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Funeral Service was held on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gravelbourg, SK. Interment took place at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
Family and friends who so wish may make memorial donations directly to the Lutheran Church-Canada Central District, 3074 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3K 0Y2.
