Obituary of Katelyne FAUCHER
Katelyne Aurelia Faucher was Assiniboia’s New Year’s baby, born on January 27, 1986 in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. Katelyne was the fourth child of Alain and Mona (nee Kutash) Faucher and sister to Celeste, Marcie, Fiona, Alanna and Daniel. She grew up on a farm west of Lisieux, Saskatchewan and went to school in Rockglen, Saskatchewan where she played volleyball, basketball, badminton and participated in track. She graduated from high school in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan in 2004. After graduation, Katelyne moved to Medicine Hat where she lived with friends and family and worked as a server and bartender. In 2008 she moved to Regina where she worked at LaBodega as a bartender, server and a provider of good times. In September 2013 Katelyne temporarily retired and she spent time with her sisters and close friends in Regina and her mother on the farm. In April 2014, Katelyne moved to Calgary where she lived with friends and worked at Kensington Winebar.
Katelyne passed away suddenly in Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Katelyne had a gigantic heart, a great singing voice and was self-described as Peter Pan because she never wanted to grow up.
Katelyne is pre-deceased by her father, Alain (1995), her grandfather, Gregoire Faucher (2009) and great grandmothers, Emma Colibaba (1996) and Annie Fox (2008). She is survived by her mother, Mona, her siblings Celeste, Marcie (Alan Lόpez), Fiona (James Liu), Alanna (Jesse Kwasnicki) and Daniel, her grandparents Tom and Adelia Kutash and Aurore "Memere” Faucher, as well as aunts and uncles Sandra (Jeff Quarrie), Lorena Kutash (Jerry Nordick), Niles Kutash, cousins Candice (Travis, Jackson and Nora Sandeski) and Justin Quarrie, and aunts and uncles Nicole Faucher, David (Brenda) Faucher, Lyanne Faucher, Jocelyn (David Dechaine) and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins. We will miss her greatly.
Funeral Service was held on Friday, October 17, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at the Rockglen Community Hall, Rockglen, SK, with Sharon Elliott celebrant. Memorial donations in memory of Katelyne may be made to a charity of your choice.
