Obituary of Beulah Carpenter

Beulah Inez Carpenter of Hazenmore, SK passed away at the Foyer d’Youville in Gravelbourg, SK on November 11, 2014, with Lloyd at her side. Beulah was born at the Kincaid Union Hospital on March 16, 1942, the oldest of three children born to Bud and Maggie (nee Shea) Schwager. She attended school in Hazenmore and Kincaid, until the family relocated to an acreage between Loreburn and Strongfield to open a gas station and restaurant. Beulah completed her schooling at the Strongfield School. After graduation, she enjoyed working at her parent’s restaurant and filling station, Maggie’s Lunch and Bud’s Esso. On April 1, 1961, Beulah married the love of her life, Lloyd Carpenter. They were blessed with three children, Curtis, Dean and Coralyn. Beulah was a loving wife and mother, and grandmother to Brandon and Carson. She cherished the time spent with her family, and loved to cook and bake for them. A few of her specialties were roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, Christmas baking, especially Nanaimo bars, and short bread for Lloyd. Beulah was a devoted Avon representative for many years, receiving many awards for her sales. She made many friends and acquaintances in the Hazenmore district and surrounding communities, and continued her sales until last year. She loved to crochet, do petit-point, and sew. Beulah was an avid reader and passionate Chicago Cubs fan. Beulah and Lloyd also enjoyed traveling and sightseeing together. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Beulah is survived by her loving family, husband Lloyd Carpenter; son Curtis Carpenter (Lorraine Pelletier), her children Amanda and Ryland; son Dean Carpenter; daughter Coralyn (Jim) Semesock, grandsons Brandon and Carson; brother Gerry (Heather) Schwager; sister-in-law Marj Schwager; nieces Nadine Schwager and Stacy (Brad) Kowal. Predeceased by her parents Bud and Maggie (nee Shea) Schwager; in-laws Alex and Myrtle Carpenter; brother Wesley Schwager. Graveside Funeral Service was held on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at the Hazenmore Cemetery, followed by a time of fellowship at the Hazenmore Hall. Memorial donations in memory of Beulah to St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, c/o The Ambulance, Box 810, Gravelbourg, SK S0H 1X0, were greatly appreciated.
