Obituary of Gisele L'Heureux

Gisele L’Heureux (nee Chenard) of Gravelbourg, SK and formerly Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the age of 88 years. She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years Lucien L’Heureux (June 7, 2003); son Gerald L’Heureux (April 25, 1969); grandson Matthew L’Heureux (May 27, 1979); sister Therese (David) Dumesnil; brother Leo (Marilyss) Chenard; brother Emile (Yvonne) Chenard; sister Jeanne Chenard. Survived by her son Paul-Emile (Eileen) L’Heureux; daughter Alice (Jean-Guy) Poissant; son Gilles (Jo-Ann) L’Heureux; daughter Annette (Dwayne) Majcher; son François L’Heureux; grandchildren Michel (Jessica) L’Heureux, Conrad (Allycia) L’Heureux, Dominic (Lisa) Poissant, Chantal (Ed) Bouchard, Patrick (Pam) Poissant, Marc Poissant, Jacquelyne L’Heureux (Martin Mason), Andrea L’Heureux Maki (Anthony), Nathan (Racquelle) L’Heureux, Tyler (Monica) Majcher, Nicole Majcher, Daniel L’Heureux, David L’Heureux, Jason L’Heureux; great grandchildren Sophia L’Heureux, Nikolas L’Heureux, Dylan L’Heureux, Joseph L’Heureux, Benjamin Poissant, Kieran Poissant, Mia Poissant, Dylan Bouchard, Brandon Bouchard, Paighton Poissant, Cadence Poissant, Maddison Poissant, Renise Poissant, Grace Poissant, Emma-Leigh L’Heureux, Sonam Maki, Emeryst Maki, Sapphire L’Heureux, Arden L’Heureux, Clark Majcher, Heidi Majcher, Noah L’Heureux, Jacob L’Heureux, Greta L’Heureux; brother Jean Chenard. Gisele was born on February 3, 1926, in Moose Jaw, SK, to Donat and Marie Anna (nee St. Pierre) Chenard. She worked at the Foyer d’Youville and St. Joseph Hospital for 18 years, and also at the Gravelbourg high school. Gisele was a craft person, sewer and knitter, and enjoyed family life. She belonged to the Gravelbourg Church Choir for 30 years, and also the Golden Voices in Moose Jaw. Gisele spent many hours doing church work and was active in organization with the Ladies of St. Anne, the CWL, and the hospital auxiliary. Gisele was forced to retire because of ill health, but always found something to do to help her growing family, who were very dear to her heart. Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK. Celebrants were Father Joseph Strohhofer and Father Rick Krofchek. Cross bearer was Patrick Poissant. Funeral Pall was placed by Gilles L’Heureux and François L’Heureux. Paschal Candle was lit by Paul-Emile L’Heureux and François L’Heureux. The eulogy was shared by Jean-Guy Poissant and Chantal Bouchard. Readers were Dominic Poissant and Jacquelyne L’Heureux. Prayers of the Faithful were shared by Tyler Majcher and Chantal Bouchard. Offertory gifts were presented by Tyler Majcher and Nicole Majcher. Vocalist Andre Moquin was accompanied by organist Leona Bourgeois. Communion hymn "Only a Shadow” was shared by Andrea L’Heureux Maki. An honour guard was formed by the CWL and Hospital Auxiliary. Active pallbearers were Michel L’Heureux, Nathan L’Heureux, David L’Heureux, Jason L’Heureux, Daniel L’Heureux and Marc Poissant. Interment took place at the Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Gisele to the Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery, Box 540, Gravelbourg, SK S0H 1X0, were greatly appreciated.
