Obituary of Todd Auger

Todd Charles Auger of Gravelbourg, SK passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the age of 45 years. Todd was born in Gravelbourg on February 7, 1969. He was the fifth of seven children born to Paul Auger and Cecile (nee Gaumond). In 1994, Todd moved to the group home in Gravelbourg. Todd was a quiet man and, although he was non verbal, he always made his presence and requests known through his actions. Todd was very expressive, and through a lift of an eyebrow, a curl of his lip, a smile, or any combination movement he could clearly convey his thoughts. Todd loved to tease and was very mischievous, he loved to get both positive and negative reactions from everyone. He loved to collect papers, play with his Koosh balls, and bang on his cans, boxes, or anything that made noise. Todd enjoyed playing outside, especially in the sandbox. He loved to challenge the staff at the group home to see who could persuade him to come out of the sandbox and in for supper. Todd appreciated the small things that life had to offer, such as peanut butter toast and bananas, chocolate and chocolate milk, and finger foods. Todd treasured the time he spent with his Grandpa Gaumond, who would often visit him at the group home. They would spend hours hanging out in the sandbox enjoying each other's company, and were best pals. Todd will be remembered for his wonderful smile, mischievous grin, and the twinkle in his eyes. Todd was deeply loved by his family and friends, and he will be dearly missed. Todd is survived by his mother Cecile Blatchford; father Paul Auger; sister Sheri Sewell, nephews Kurtis and Tyler (Trudy), nieces Chelsey and Cassidy; sister Carrie (Frank) Lachowitzer, niece Amanda, nephews Brian and Trevor; sister Wendy (Bruce) Fiset, nephew Dex; sister Tami (Neil) Materi, nephew Max; brother Scott (Chantelle) Auger, nieces Danica, Sydney, Seanna, nephew Dylan. Predeceased by his brother Russell Auger (October 8, 1977). Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Piche-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapel, Gravelbourg, with Reverend Linda Tomlinson-Seebach officiant. The eulogy was shared by Annette Gruending. Special music, "I Will Remember You” and "Hallelujah” was sang by Danica Auger and Seanna Auger. Honorary pallbearers were Margo Bourgeois, Lucy Ste. Marie, Jessie Fafard and Patricia Dutton. Memorial donations in memory of Todd to Gravelbourg Bon Ami Inc., Box 822, Gravelbourg, SK S0H 1X0, were greatly appreciated. Todd’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors for the wonderful care that Todd received, and to the group home and IPI for their exceptional care and kindness.
