Obituary of Denise Lagasse
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Lagasse (nee Gauthier), resident of Creston, B.C and formerly Gravelbourg, SK. She passed away on May 12, 2015, at Cranbrook Hospital, B.C., at the age of 84. She was born in Coppen, SK on July 15, 1930, daughter of Raoul and Maria Gauthier. Denise married Roland Lagasse on October 21, 1953, in Gravelbourg, SK. They raised eight children while farming and operating Lagasse Welding. Denise and Roland enjoyed camping, church, bowling, travelling, family gatherings, gardening, playing piano and violin. When they moved to Creston in 1996 they hosted family and friends with tours of the Creston Valley. Denise enjoyed her involvement with Holy Cross Parish events and kept busy daily by knitting baby items for the hospital tuck shop. Denise is predeceased by her husband Roland and son Marcel. She is survived by daughters: Cecile Cousineau, Laurette Orban, Pauline Lagasse, Alice (Sam) Pon, Jeanne (Dave) Koback; sons: Raymond (Leane) Lagasse, Leo Lagasse; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK. Interment will take place at the Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery, followed by a time of fellowship at the Gravelbourg Parish Hall.
