Obituary of Henry Coward

Henry John Coward of Swift Current, SK passed away on May 25, 2015, at the age of 72 years. He was born on February 24, 1943, in Swift Current, to Joseph and Lydia Coward. Henry attended grade school in Dendron close to where the family farm resides. He worked for Sears and Household Finance before becoming a Life Insurance Salesman. Henry moved his family around as his jobs required -- he lived in Regina, Yorkton, Calgary, and Swift Current. Henry enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, photography, and was a HUGE Roughrider fan. Henry was very active in the church and was a member of the Kinsmen for years where he supported the Swift Current Air Cadet Squadron. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Henry is survived by his wife Sally Coward (nee Ens); son Darwin Coward; daughter Deann (Kirk) Dickin, grandson Brian (Jessica) Dickin, and great grand-daughter Abigail, grand-daughter Jessica Dickin; daughter Shereen Coward; mother of his children Joan (Charlie) McNutt; step-daughter Teresa (Stephen) Landry; step-granddaughters Ashley Bissonnette & Emily Landry; step-son Allen Giesbrecht; step-son Trevor (Brandi) Giesbrecht; step-grandchildren Ashton, Hayden & Avery Giesbrecht; step-daughter Lee-Ann Giesbrecht (Troy Wesaquate); brother Gordon (Pat) Coward; sister Gloria (Bob) Wilson. He was predeceased by his parents, father Joseph Coward (1989) and mother Lydia Coward (nee Edel) (2009). Funeral Service was held on Friday, May 29, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at East Side Church of God, Swift Current, SK, with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiant. Psalm reading was shared by Stephen Landry. Ushers were Darrel Wilson and Ryan Zacharias. Active pallbearers were Kirk Dickin, Brian Dickin, Brad Coward, Trevor Giesbrecht, Ashton Giesbrecht and Troy Wesaquate. Interment took place at Hodgeville Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Henry to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
