Dear Quark family It was with sadness we learned about Agnes's passing.We are thinking of you all and how much we will all miss her. Since we first met her, when she visited us at Neverdal with Eric and later, when we have met her, during our visits with the family in Canada, she was able to touch our hearts in a very special way. In these times of sadness, we are grateful that we got to know this wonderful, warmhearted, sweet Lady. We join you and the many others who will miss her, but we remain grateful still for having known her.

Aunt Agnes was a quiet woman who for a small woman could give bear hugs that took your breath away! Her giggle was so cute !She told some great stories about growing up with Dad ( Harry) and Bruce. One she told me concerned Uncle Bruce. They were all little and on the way to visit Grandma Brustad by train. Grandpa Cropp ( James) had a store in Mossbank for a few years and they as kids could sometimes get a few things "on their Tab." Well, Bruce vanished in the large train station which scared Grandma M.Cropp and the others .She found him at a kiosk selling chocolates. He was trying to buy chocolate there by putting it on his "tab!" Oh my..so Grandma bought chocolates for the kids and they all ate choc while traveling. And got chocolate smeared on their clean clothes on the way to visit their Grandma ! Loved that story. And she also told me how Dad got lost in Michigan when they were visiting family. She was to keep an eye on her younger brothers but there were so many kids to play with in the yard and it seems Harry wandered off after other kids he saw. Well ,they were called in for lunch and No Harry! Panic..Grandma Cropp's sister called the police station to report him missing. Officer asked for a description and said you had best come down. Well , a man had spotted a 3 -4 yr old lost boy and took him to the station and that is where they found him eating treats the officers were feeding him. Maybe I should have put this in the share a story part. So many things come to mind..our families eating meals out in the field together at harvest time. The way she would worry and ask me to call after I got home safe( as an adult!) to Cold Lake when we lived there.I was surely Mothered by 2 women Mom and Aunt Agnes . God bless her.

To the Quark Family,so sorry to hear about Agnes.I have very fond memories of her ! When ever I see an Apron it reminds me of her ! There is an amazing poem about the Apron and when I read it it reminds me of Agnes!
