Obituary of Paul Lockyer

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Paul Henry Lockyer, on December 8, 2015, at the age of 40 years. Paul was born on January 23, 1975, in Mankota, SK. While growing up Paul enjoyed playing football, and was on the Hafford Vikings football team. Paul graduated from high school in Hafford, SK, and attended a radio announcer course in Vermillion, AB. He worked as a radio announcer in Saskatoon, Lloydminister, and Edmonton before moving to Peterborough, Ontario. There, he worked as an announcer at a country radio station, and his radio name was "Paul Young.” In 1996 Paul began working for Much Music in Toronto. He toured through Canada and the Northern United States as the DJ for their video dance parties. Paul was adventurous, and took a leap of faith when he applied for a business analyst position with RBC. He was very interested in this line of work, and with his eagerness to learn Paul got the job! He trained and received his IT Certificate. In 2007 he moved to Regina to work for Celero Solutions as an intermediate Business Analyst. Paul worked there for a year, and at SAIC as an It Consultant and Senior Business Analyst for 2 years. In August 2010 Paul began working at Paradigm Consulting Group. There, his work was contracted and he had the opportunity to work for many different companies, such as the Saskatchewan Liquor Board and Potash Corp. Paul loved sports, and was a passionate Green Bay Packers and Toronto Blue Jays fan. He enjoyed playing ball, squash, and golf. Paul was a collector, and had sports memorabilia, figurines, and Lego. He was a big Star Wars fan, and also liked to play the Game of Thrones online. He loved to travel, and was the instigator for many of the adventures and trips Paul, his friends and family would take. Paul was fun loving, level headed, and an extremely loveable person. Memories of Paul will be forever cherished by his family and friends. Paul is survived by his family, mother Eileen Boland; father Peter Lockyer; sister Jacyntha Laviolette; brother Donovan Laviolette (Brianna), nieces Arellia, Sophia; sister Kim Lockyer; sister Heather Lockyer, niece Caydence, nephew Ryland; grandmother Dorothy Lockyer. Predeceased by his grandparents Henry and Helen Boland; grandfather Dave Lockyer; close friend Ben Tinson. Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at the Mankota Agricultural Hall, Mankota, SK. Officiant was Laura Balas. Urn bearers were Harvey Boland and Valerie Turgeon. The eulogy was shared by Wayne Boland and Ric Parker. Picture tribute by Paul’s friends. Reader was Scott Turgeon.
