Obituary of Dale Walker

Clarence "Dale” Walker of Edmonton, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the age of 67 years. Dale was the third of nine children born to Clarence and Evelyn Walker of Mankota, Saskatchewan. Dale worked various jobs in the Oil & Gas industry, was a grain buyer and operated a patrol for the RM of 45, throughout his life. His heart, however, never strayed very far from his roots. He loved the farm and eagerly welcomed the opportunity to jump on a combine. Dale grew up believing that family always came first. He enjoyed keeping up with family happenings and visited often when he could. Dale enjoyed a good card game and being with family and friends. He also enjoyed many a fine can of Coke and a smoke. His generosity to anyone in need, even when he had little for himself was an enduring trait. Dale will never be forgotten by those whose lives he touched in so many ways. Never selfish, always loving and kind – these are the memories Dale leaves behind. Dale was predeceased by his father Clarence Walker (1997); mother Evelyn Walker (2012); and brother Kenneth Walker (1991). Dale is survived by his brothers and sisters, Keith (Margaret) Walker of Mankota, SK, Linda Walker of Edmonton, AB, Beverly Chanig of Saskatoon, SK, Debra Kornaga of Saskatoon, SK, Glen (Johanne) Walker of Calgary, AB, Judith (Ken) Kornaga of Glen Bain, SK, Grant (Mary) Walker of Stettler, AB; nieces and nephews: Leah (Ward) Nelson, Tonia Walker (Dean Hogberg), Opal (Scott) Proudlove, Cal Chanig, Cory Chanig, Shannon (Aaron) Leonard, Carla Kornaga, Steven (Erin) Kornaga, Devin (Neil) Kornaga, Amy (Darcy) Smith, Chris (Sharla) Walker, Matthew (Amanda) Walker, Clinton (Katrina) Kornaga, Justin (Amanda) Kornaga, Kendal (Gordon) Wallace, Ian (Carline) Walker, Tracey (Kevin) Walker; and 19 great nieces and nephews. Funeral Service was held on Sunday, April 17, at 1:00 p.m., at the Mankota Agricultural Hall, Mankota, SK. Interment took place at Wallard Community Cemetery. Memorial tributes in memory of Dale may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Prairie View Health Centre Fund, Box 392, Mankota, SK. S0H 2W0, or the charity of one’s choice.
