Obituary of Jeanne Beauregard

Marie Jeanne Beauregard of Assiniboia, SK, passed away on April 9, 2016, at the age of 89. Jeanne was born on June 24, 1926, on the family farm near Verwood, SK. She began school at Moose Pond School, then in Verwood, and completed her education at the convent in Willow Bunch. On October 5, 1949, Jeanne married Eudore Beauregard and they lived on a farm in the Scout Lake district. In 1961 they bought a farm north of St. Victor, and this is where they raised their five children. Jeanne baked many loaves of bread throughout her life and always had a huge garden, so she did a lot of canning. Prior to her marriage, Jeanne took a correspondence course in hand weaving and continued weaving until she and Eudore moved to Assiniboia in 1983. Jeanne was also a prolific knitter, crocheter, and quilter, making quilts for each of her grandchildren, numerous afghans, baby blankets, and more. Jeanne was a member of the CWL and spent many years as a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member of Club 55, where she especially enjoyed playing Bridge and Bingo. After moving to Assiniboia, Jeanne and Eudore travelled more. Jeanne enjoyed their camping and fishing trips, as well as going to the Big Valley Jamboree in Craven for many years. One of Jeanne's favourite trips was going to Alaska. In the past few years failing health slowed her down, but Jeanne was always ready to attend any gathering, provided that she was feeling well enough. She enjoyed socializing with other Westside Court residents, doing puzzles together and their monthly potluck suppers. She loved going to family birthday, Christmas, and other holiday celebrations. Jeanne will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and fond memories of her will be cherished always. Jeanne is survived by her loving family, daughter Doris Roberge; son Alain Beauregard (Jocelyn); son Claude Beauregard (Cathie); son Paul Beauregard (Brenda); 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brothers Dennis (Rita) Cayer, Ronald (Victoria) Cayer. Predeceased by her husband Eudore Beauregard (2007); daughter Louise Beauregard (2000); brother Philip (Alice) Cayer; son-in-law Denis Roberge. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at St. George Roman Catholic Church, Assiniboia, SK. Celebrant was Father Joy Montiague. The eulogy was shared by Jocelyn and Alain Beauregard. Active Pallbearers were David Roberge, Clarence Roberge, Shawn Griffin, Guy Cayer, Michael Cayer, and Andre Cayer. Interment took place at St. Victor Cemetery. Memorial Tributes in memory of Jeanne to the South Country Health Care Foundation, Box 1750, Assiniboia, SK S0H 0B0, and Masses were greatly appreciated.
