Hazel May Wilson (Bonnett), born on October 23,1918, passed away May 13, 2016 at Gravelbourg. Hazel was the last of ten children born on the family farm north of Palmer. She was predeceased by her husband Burton and two sons, Bill (Darlene) and Charles. She is survived by three children, Marilyn (Garry) Churchill, Steve (Lila) Wilson, and Colleen (Tim) Thiele. Grandmother to 8 grandchildren, Carol (Leonard) Lepine, Dean (Farrah) Wilson, Tracey (Marlo) Robinson, Jodi (Carl) Parsonage, Ryan (Pam) Wilson, Brad (Mandy) Wilson, Jarrod (Lacey) Thiele and Scott (Fiona) Thiele. Great Grandmother to 14, Brett & D.J. Lepine, Mackenzie, Ashley & Matt Robinson, Zach & Codi Parsonage, Ben & Mckenna Wilson, Reese & Dane Wilson, Boston & Blaire Wilson and Brynnley Thiele. Hazel left home at an early age to work as a telephone operator in Shaunavon, from there she moved to Coderre to work for the Smith family. It was here she met her future husband Burton Wilson. They were married in Regina on September 17, 1943 and after Burton got out of the army they moved back to Coderre to farm until Burton passed away in 1981, at which time Bill and Steve took over the farm. Hazel retired to Moose Jaw in 1985 and found leaving the farm very difficult but was soon surprised at how much she enjoyed the city. She started volunteering at the Eaton Center and took up golf in her mid 60's and continued on into her 80th year. Hazel took great pride in everything she tackled, among her many interests were golfing, reading, quilting, gardening, walking, playing scrabble and crib and having the "odd discussion about politics!” She lived on her own until her 90th year and ended her time in the Foyer in Gravelbourg where she received excellent care. A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
