Obituary of Ralph Froshaug

Ralph Norman Froshaug was born in Kincaid, Sk. on April 20, 1946. Ralph departed this life on May 23, 2016 in Woodrow, Sk. Ralph was the third son of Doran and Marjorie Froshaug of McCord, Sk. Ralph attended the Wood Mountain and McCord Schools. Ralph spent a lot of time on his Grandpa’s ranch south of McCord and throughout his life, Ralph enjoyed sharing the stories of the adventures he and his brothers experienced - and there were many! Ralph married Linda Anderson of Fir Mountain, Sk. on August 3, 1968. After a couple of years living in British Columbia, where Ralph worked in lumber mills and Linda taught school, the couple returned to Southern Saskatchewan to establish a home south of Glentworth. Ralph and Linda had four sons; Corbin born in 1971, Ryan in 1973, Neil was stillborn in 1978, and Justin arrived in 1980. In the fall of 1980, Ralph and Linda welcomed a three year old chosen daughter named Bonnie to complete their family. They established the Seven Springs Farm where they farmed and raised cattle. Linda passed away in 2003. Ralph eventually reduced his land base and later rented his farm land out. Ralph was known far and wide for his mechanical abilities and ingenuity. When the boys were small, Ralph enjoyed teaching his sons his skills and was still active in helping them - a quick call to Dad was usually all one needed to get the broken thing working again. He was also always willing to help a neighbor. Ralph was a loyal and supportive friend, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Ralph was intensely proud of his six grandchildren, and travelled great distances to watch them compete in their chosen sports with his loving companion Sharon Rusk at his side. Ralph was very active socially and was known in Woodrow as the "Post Office Greeter". He leaves behind many friends who will remember his wit and ways. Ralph was predeceased by his wife Linda, parents Doran and Marjorie, son Neil, brother Randolph, and nephew Jason Froshaug. Ralph will be lovingly remembered by his companion Sharon Rusk, children - Corbin and Lona, Ryan and Carla, Bonnie, Justin and Elysse; grandchildren - Dylan and Kale, Shyla, Tanner, Shana, and Colter; brothers - Ronald, Robert, Alan, and Lorne; nieces, nephews, in-laws, and special friends. Celebration of Life was held on Friday, May 27, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at St. George Parish Hall, Assiniboia, Sk. The eulogy was shared by Shyla and Dylan Froshaug. Tributes were given by Ronald Froshaug, Brent Klein, Royce Payne, and Richard Turriff. Followed by a picture tribute and family memories.
