Obituary of Edwin Krauss

Edwin Theodore Krauss of Assiniboia, SK and formerly Mazenod, SK passed away on June 6, 2016, at the age of 84. Edwin was born on October 22, 1931, on the family farm. He was the oldest child of Theodore "Ted" and Elsie (nee Buch) Krauss. Edwin farmed his entire life north of Mazenod. He had a passion for driving, and drove school bus for 25 years. He also drove an electric bus in Vancouver for a short time. Edwin liked to get up early in the morning, and to finish his work day after his bus route. Edwin loved music and dancing, and was fond of old time music. He was very talented and played the piano and accordion. Edwin retired to Assiniboia, where he enjoyed visiting with his neighbours, and especially playing music at the senior citizen homes in Mossbank, Lafleche, Gravelbourg, and Assiniboia. Many fondly knew him as "Uncle Ed." Your kids where his kids. Edwin is survived by his loving family, sister Helen Robinson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Theo and Elsie (nee Buch) Krauss, infant brother, sister Margareta (Julius) Krauss, and brother-in-law Donald "Robbie" Robinson. Interment took place on Monday, June 27, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Mazenod, SK, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m., at the Mazenod Hall. Officiant was Pastor Daniel Krauss. The eulogy was shared by Marlow Krauss. Memorial donations in memory of Edwin to St. John's Cemetery, c/o Terry Krauss, Box 64, Mazenod, SK S0H 2Y0, were greatly appreciated.
