Obituary of Steve Okraincee

Steve Okraincee of Glentworth, SK passed away peacefully at the Foyer d'Youville in Gravelbourg, SK, on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the age of 83. Steve is survived by his loving family, wife of 48 years Diane (nee Mackow) Okraincee; daughter Karen (Tibor) Takach, grandchildren Anika and Mathew; daughter Brenda (Trevor) Boyes, grandchildren Kash and Kane; son Evan (Lenea) Okraincee, grandchildren Blaze and Lexxy; son Myron (Laurie) Okraincee, grandchildren Tanner, Addyson and McKenna; siblings Anne (Metro) Borowetz, Peter Okraincee, Roman (Katie) Okraincee, Lily Lethbridge, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William and Nellie (nee Kohut) Okraincee; granddaughter Pyper Okraincee; siblings Bill Okraincee and Mary Tanghe. Over the years Steve enjoyed curling, golfing, fishing, bowling, and TV sports. He was a farmer at heart, and retired in 1999 to Glentworth. Prayers were held on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., and Funeral Mass on Monday, August 22, 2016, at 1:30 p.m., both at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Glentworth, SK. Celebrant was Father Basil Malowany. Cross bearer was Jynae Petersen. A reading was shared by Lorry Okraincee. Cantor was Peter Huska. Pallbearers were Terry Mackow, Vern Mackow, John Okraincee, Anthony Okraincee, Floyd Lethbridge, and Darrel Petersen. Interment took place at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Glentworth, SK. Memorial donations in memory of Steve to the Children's Wish Foundation, 3602 Millar Ave., Saskatoon, SK S7P 0B1 or the Ronald McDonald House, 1011 University Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7P 0B1, are greatly appreciated.
