Dear Russell: So sorry to hear that your Dad has passed away. Another of
our special residents of Gravelbourg.
Got so used to having short visits with him from time to time and I will
always remember how appreciative he was when we would deliver Christmas
trays each year. I know your Dad enjoyed his independence, his home and
any chances to visit. He always talked fondly of his farming days. I
know that he worked through many personal issues in his life and in
these last years I think found happiness and peace within himself.
Although not one to go to church, I think his faith was important to him.
He was especially a great help and a very dedicated friend to Monique
Miller. I know that he was always available to drive her places she
needed to go. Their friendship was a blessing to both.
I helped your Dad do his pre-arrangements for his funeral service. I
know Russell he was thinking of you - he wanted it to be as easy as
possible for you. His main purpose was love for family and making good
plans for the future. His smile always showed that he was happy that it
was all in place.
It was always nice Russell when you came to visit your Dad in
Gravelbourg. We always enjoyed your visits to our church. Russell, I
know that you developed a strong faith and have very dear christian
friends. I really thank God for the many blessings their love and
support adds to your life, especially through these days.
I know Elan and Patrick will be there to also help you through the
funeral. Even though I cannot be with you, please know that we give
thanks for your Dad's life and Paulette and I pray that the funeral
service will be great blessing to you.
Dearest wishes- Sam and Paulette Hawkins
