She leaves to mourn her son Clinton Austin of Gravelbourg, SK, and daughter Beverley (Vance) Wensel of Lafleche, SK. She is predeceased by her parents, half brothers Oscar, Joseph and Lloyd, and half sister Evelyn. Edna completed grade eight in a one room school house. Because times were tough, further education as not an option without selling farm machinery. Edna would not hear of such a thing. She enlisted in the army and was a private. She was responsible for the payroll and for driving her superiors. She had a natural gift for the job and could change a tire in a moment's notice. Edna worked for Sears and started in the telephone department. She then was in charge of stock, categorizing anything with coloured pencils and coding. She trained many fellow coworkers, as she had a natural gift for organizing and beautiful penmanship. Edna met her soul mate, Lloyd Tanner, at the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans Club, where she was the secretary for the Ladies' Cribbage League. There, she realized a cribbage players dream when she held a perfect hand of three fives and the jack of clubs. Her opponent cut the cards and turned up the five of clubs, giving Edna 29 points. Edna and Lloyd loved playing cards and bowling, and would often pack a picnic lunch to enjoy when they would go fishing. They spent many wonderful years together. Lloyd passed away on July 26, 1986. Edna loved growing begonias in her enclosed garden, and always had a little poodle dog. Edna had accepted Jesus as her Savior as a child, and this was very evident in the thoughtful and kind way she treated people throughout her long life. Edna and her son Clinton relocated to Assiniboia, later settling in Gravelbourg. Edna passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Foyer d'Youville in Gravelbourg, at the age of 93.
