Obituary of Donna Brewster

Donna Grace Marie Brewster of Regina, SK passed away on February 14, 2017, at the age of 71. Donna was born to Ken and Hazel (nee Woodcock) Brewster on the family farm at Gibbs, SK, on August 16, 1945. She was the middle child of three children. The family relocated to Peterborough, ON for a few months in 1948, spending time with her mother’s family. They then returned to the family farm south of Earl Grey. She attended Fosterdale School and graduated high school in Earl Grey. In 1964, Donna married Bill Rich. They established their home north of Craven where they raised their children, Michael, Trevor and Tawnya. Donna was very involved with farming and helping with the cattle. She was also active with 4-H, purebred show cattle, and worked at the Canadian Western Agribition. In 1999, Donna moved to Regina and with the support of family and friends she rebuilt a new life volunteering, and later working with the Red Cross and MS Society. Donna’s immediate and extended family, particularly her grandchildren, nieces, and nephew, meant the world to her. Donna would schedule around their volleyball, baseball, basketball, dance recitals, school functions, graduations, and everything in between. She did the books for her condo association, and income tax returns for family and friends. She enjoyed travelling and giving back to her friends, and had many happy times with her good friend Murray Oram. She was a strong, independent, and remarkable lady with class, and was always ahead of her time. Donna was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and will be dearly missed. She will be remembered and treasured for a life well lived. Donna is survived by her loving family son Trevor (Jackie) Rich, grandchildren Jonathon, Rachelle; daughter Tawnya (Louis) Huys, grandchildren Sydney, Jayla, Rylee, Mya; brothers Doug (Donna) Brewster, Darcy (Janet) Brewster; nieces and nephew Bettyanne, Stephen, Cathy, Chelsea, their families, and numerous cousins; good friends Denise and Kathy, and many other friends. Predeceased by her infant daughter, son Michael Rich; parents Ken and Hazel Brewster; niece Pam; dear friend Murray Oram. Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 1:30 p.m., at Regina Funeral Home, with Donna Rumpel DLM officiant. Organist was Peta Rich. The eulogy was shared by Rachelle Rich, Jonathon Rich, Kathy Martin, and Lisa Smith. Interment took place at Longlaketon Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Donna to the Ronald McDonald House, 1011 University Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7P 0B1, were greatly appreciated.
