Obituary of Dolores Morrison

Dolores Alexandria (Perigny) Morrison departed this life peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw, SK at the age of 75. She was the eldest in a family of 6 children, born on June 21, 1941 and raised in Lafleche, SK. After graduating from St. Mathieu school in Lafleche, she attended Teachers College in Regina and later took summer classes to complete her B.Ed in French. Dolores was involved in the Children of Mary organization where she held many positions including President. She also served her community by creating learning opportunities and memories for her students, their families and her colleagues in Mankota, Watrous, Kamsack, Midale, Estevan and Regina. Dolores expressed her creativity in many ways. She was a talented pianist, had a fl air for fashion and jewelry, loved to read, knit, crochet, sew and make stuffed animals. She found great joy and serenity tending to her flower gardens and enjoying the beauty of all God’s creations - a passion she passed on to her daughter. Above all, Dolores was a loving, supportive and devoted mother to her children, Leanne and David - her pride and joy. Family was her heart. It was the simple things in life that made her feel fortunate and thankful: a letter, hug, visit, phone call or "I love you” would shine through her heart for days. During later years, she learned to use an IPad to stay connected with family and friends. She also enjoyed the companionship and pleasure of caring for her pets. Her final written message to us is: "I love you all.” Dolores was predeceased by her beloved son, David; parents Joe and Frances Perigny; brother Lucien Perigny; brother-in-law Montey Halverson; and her niece Cassana Radcliffe. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted daughter Leanne (Morrison) Lariviere of Moose Jaw; her brother Wilfred (Yvette) Perigny of Regina; sisters Jacqueline (Gary Felton) of Regina; Claudette Halverson of Regina; Adeline Hovorka of Big Beaver and their families. She cherished her relationship with her nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Dolores requested a private family funeral. Her daughter, Leanne, wishes to extend her sincere gratitude to the many compassionate and generous people who helped care for her mother during her last years and months. Special thanks to the staff at Pioneer Lodge, the Palliative Care team as well as friends and volunteers in Moose Jaw who made it possible for Dolores to have quality life to the end.
