Obituary of Maurice ENTWISTLE
Maurice Alan Entwistle of Coronach, SK, and formerly Swift Current, SK and Herbert, SK, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013, at the age of 82 years. Maurice was born in Manchester, England on August 6, 1930, to Arthur and Jean (nee Kirpatrick) Entwistle.
Maurice married Margaret Wilson on December 22, 1961, and they were blessed with five children. Maurice learned the value of hard work at an early age. Money and jobs were scarce and, wanting to provide a better life for his family, he ventured to Canada. He found work as a coal miner, a job that became his lifelong career. Maurice worked in various provinces and many different mines. He experienced many hardships, the loss of his father at an early age, his son Alan in 1962 and daughter Debra in 1993. Even at the darkest times Maurice lived with the motto, "It doesn’t matter how tough you have it, someone always has it worse.” He had a quick wit, a sparkle in his eye and a great love for people. Maurice loved a good cup of tea and to visit with family and friends.
Maurice is survived by his loving family, son Roy (Dorcas) Entwistle of Manchester, England, grandchildren Lily Entwistle (Grant Tucker), Alan Entwistle (Julie Madden); daughter Christine (Paul) Thorpe of Manchester, England, grandchildren Emma (George) Millard, Hayley (Dan) Parfitt; daughter Pauline (Allan) Scott of Coronach, SK, grandchildren Misty (Jesse) Moulton, Kristopher (Amanda) Scott; granddaughter Stephanie Billard (Jamie Eubank); sister Rena Canavan; brothers Bobby Graham and Stewart Graham. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (nee Wilson) (2007); daughter Debra (1993); son Alan (1962); brothers Raymond Entwistle, Alexander Entwistle and Tony Graham.
