Obituary of Laurette BOURGEOIS

Laurette Aurore Bourgeois of Gravelbourg, SK, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the age of 92 years. Laurette was born on a farm south of Gravelbourg, SK on July 20, 1921. She was the second child of eleven born to Robert and Sarah (nee Arguin) Piche. Laurette attended Gravelbourg school. She married Jérémie Bourgeois in 1955 and they had 5 children, Robert, Roland, Lise, Margo and Paula. They resided on a farm west of Gravelbourg and built a new home in town, where she remained until moving to the Foyer d’Youville. Laurette loved playing cards, especially Rummy and Bataille, as well as playing dominoes. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, and was proud of their many accomplishments. She was well known for her delicious cooking and baking, and enjoyed preparing meals for holidays and family get-togethers. Laurette treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Laurette is survived by her loving family, son Robert (Nicole) Bourgeois, grandson Jason (Nichole), great grandchild Loïc, grandson Matthew; son Roland (Lynn) Bourgeois; granddaughter Danielle Bourgeois Dion (Daniel), grandchild Félix; grandson Ryan (Amanda Fenstad), grandson Reid; daughter Lise (David) Erfle, grandchildren Rachelle, Laura and Dylan; daughter Margo Bourgeois; daughter Paula Pinsonneault, grandchildren Réjean, Josée; father of the children Jérémie Bourgeois; sisters Yvette and Jeanne; brothers Yvon, Arthur, Albert, Denis and Claude. Predeceased by her son-in-law Norman Pinsonneault; parents Robert & Sarah (née Arguin) Piché; sister Robertine; brothers Jean and René. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK, with Father Joseph Strohhofer celebrant. The eulogy was shared by Danielle Bourgeois-Dion. Readers were Matthew Bourgeois and Rachelle Erfle. Intentions were shared by Stefan Piché. Offertory gifts were presented by Réjean Pinsonneault and Josée Pinsonneault. Soloist Henri Lepage was accompanied by organist Leona Bourgeois. Urn bearers were Lise Erfle and Margo Bourgeois. Honorary pallbearers were "All those who shared in Laurette’s life.” Honour guard was formed by Industrie Prairie Industries. Interment took place at the Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Laurette to the Foyer d’Youville Foundation, Box 810, Gravelbourg, SK S0H 1X0, Industrie Prairie Industries, Box 822, Gravelbourg, SK S0H 1X0, and Masses, were greatly appreciated.
