Obituary of Georgina Eddy

Georgina Sophia Eddy passed away at the Foyer d’Youville, Gravelbourg, SK, on November 3, 2017, with family at her side. Georgina was born on August 23, 1919, on her father’s (Peter Bristol) homestead eight miles north of Hazenmore, SK. She attended Harold School and was farming when she met Hilton, whom she later married on July 7, 1952 in Tugaske, SK. She worked tirelessly from an early age in order to take care of the farm, after the loss of her father; this work ethic continued for a lifetime.In March of 1954 Georgina contracted Polio and was hospitalized for two months in Vanguard and Regina. On October 23, 1955, their first daughter, Laura was born, followed by Elizabeth ‘Beth’ who was born July 7, 1958. In 1960, the family moved to Aneroid. Georgina and Hilton had a new home built in 1986 then later moved into the former Leonard and Doris Dash house. They retired in 1994 turning their farm land over to Laura and Beth. Georgina and Hilton lived in Aneroid until his passing on March 4, 2000. Where Georgina continued to live by herself for about two years before moving to the Foyer d’Youville in Gravelbourg, SK. As a pass time Georgina enjoyed crocheting, but loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. Georgina is predeceased by her husband, Hilton Eddy (2000); daughter, Laura Eddy-Claydon (2016); parents, Peter and Anna (nee Borlaug) Bristol; siblings, Ottar Bristol (Muriel), Alice Ellis (Jim), Olga Eddy (Wilbur), William Bristol (Jean); sister-in-law, Jackie. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Eddy-Noble (Stanley Noble); grandson Nicholas, granddaughter Megan; son-in-law, Richard ‘Dick’ Claydon; grandson, Daniel (Brittany), great grandchildren Gabriel and McKenzie, grandson Stuart; brother Ivar Bristol. Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Aneroid Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Officiant was Laura Balas, special music "Just as I am” and "Amazing Grace”. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Piche-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapels, Assiniboia & Gravelbourg.
