Obituary of John Fitzpatrick

John of Lafleche, SK passed away on January 13, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital, Gravelbourg, SK, at the age of 69 years. He was predeceased by his mother Mary (1985) father Dennis(1990), his brother Patrick (1966) and Dennis’ second wife Vivian (2017). He will be dearly missed by his dogs, Sandy and Mickey. John was born on December 17, 1948 in Moose Jaw. The family resided in Morse, Fir Mountain, Assiniboia, Moose Jaw and Swift Current. John graduated high school in Moose Jaw and went on to earn his culinary papers as a journeyman chef. He was the chef at the Harwood Hotel for many years. He owned and operated the Esso Restaurants in Valleyview, AB and also in Moose Jaw. In 1974, John and his parents formed a partnership and operated the Ambassador Hotel in Gravelbourg until the late 80’s. John enjoyed travelling, venturing to the east and west coast and to the United States. He was very fond of dogs, rescuing many from the animal shelters. Come rain or shine John could be found walking his beloved dogs. John loved his music, especially Irish Music, Jerry Lee Lewis and Buddy Holly. John’s family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to Donnelle & Ray Morissette for all the kindness and care extended to John.
