Obituary of Matthew FOLEY

Matthew Shane Foley of Coronach, SK, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013, at the age of 23 years. Matthew was born in Assiniboia, SK on December 14, 1989, the second son of Archie and Dianne (nee Woitas) Foley. He attended school in Coronach and graduated in 2007. He attended Medicine Hat College for Power Engineering for one year, and in the summer he worked with Stauber Drilling. Matthew really enjoyed working at the Rolling Hills Feed Lot at Fife Lake, and later worked for the Big Rig Triples and the Bengough Pipe Line. He was currently in his second year of apprenticing for Boilermaking with his brother Jaxson. He was gifted at repairing many things, and wasn’t afraid to take on a challenge or a new role. Matthew enjoyed basketball, baseball, board games and cards, and was an avid Colts fan. Family time was very important to Matthew and he loved being a part special occasions. Left to cherish Matthew’s memory are his parents Archie and Dianne Foley; brothers Orrin Foley, Jaxson Foley, Evan Foley; grandmother Berniece Foley; aunts & uncles Linda (Henry), Mick (Lyn), Maureen, Carol, Kathy (Dennis), Brenda, Jim, Cynthia (Eugene), Patricia (Jean-Marc), Shelley, Clancy (Erica), Lisa (Blaine), Shauna (Chad), Dave (Helen), Lyle (Sue), Joe (Geraldine), Mike (Debbie), Grant (Bev); and numerous cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his grandfather Clarence Foley; grandparents Lawrence and Jean Woitas; uncles Ken and Fabian; cousins Ethan, Jeremy, James, Brett, Evelyn Rose and family friend Laurence Scott. Prayers were held on Friday, August 9, 2013, at 7:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Coronach, SK. Funeral Mass was Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Ignace Roman Catholic Church, Willow Bunch, SK. Celebrant was Father Andrew Pawlowicz. Altar servers were Josh Frehlich and Mattesyn Jones. Cross bearer was Jaxson Foley. Paschal candle was lit by Clancy Foley and Shauna Dalwood. Readers were Jim Foley and Kathy Gibson. Prayers of the faithful were shared by Sue Woitas. Offertory gifts were presented by Braden Foley and Haleigh Foley. Communion minister was Maureen Foley. Music was played by Linda Poirier. Power point presentation was prepared by Greg and Renee Wilford. The eulogy was shared by Clancy Foley and Shauna Dalwood. Pallbearers were G.J. Curran, George Struble, Ian Dalwood, Jeremy Dalwood, Joseph Woitas and Ethan Woitas. Interment took place at the Coronach Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Matthew to STARS Ambulance Service, 2640 Airport Rd., Regina, SK S4W 1A3 and the Coronach Health Centre, Box 150, Coronach, SK S0H 0Z0, were greatly appreciated.
