Obituary of Nicole Zopf
Nicole Rose Marie Zopf passed away at the Assiniboia Union Hospital, Assiniboia, Saskatchewan on March 28, 2018, at the age of 55 years. She was the eldest child of Andre and Cecile (nee Chabot) St. Jacques. She was born on February 5, 1963, in Gravelbourg, SK., and grew up on the family farm NW 19-6-4 northeast of Glentworth, SK. She attended school in Glentworth and completed her high schooling at St. Angela’s Academy in Prelate, SK. In 1983, Nicole earned her Business Administration diploma at Medicine Hat College. On November 12, 1983, Nicole married Blaine Zopf, in Glentworth, SK. They took up residence on the Zopf family farm in the Rockglen district. There they raised three children: Heath (1986), Lacey (1987) and Kristy (1990). Nicole was employed with Prairie South School Division for many years. She truly enjoyed working as a Librarian and an Educational Assistant. Nicole loved being outdoors, whether she was camping with family or friends, gardening, digging out and gathering petrified rocks to create beautiful flower beds. She felt at peace with nature. Nicole had a deep connection to angels and treasured her collection. However, Nicole’s most valued possession and the light of her life were her beautiful grandchildren: Lukas (2011), Dominic (2013) and Alyssa (2015). She adored them. "Angels are not Extraordinary beings with Wings and a Halo. They are ordinary people living ordinary lives. But they have Special Qualities that touch our soul in Special Ways.” Nicole is survived by her husband, Blaine Zopf; son Heath Zopf; daughter Lacey Zopf, grandchildren Lukas, Dominic and Alyssa; daughter Kristy Zopf (Wesley Griffin); parents Andy and Cecile St. Jacques; siblings Joanne Jonescu, Albert (Lois) St. Jacques and Diane (Scott) Williams; brothers-in-law Clinton (Cathy) Zopf and Blair (Tracy) Zopf; sister-in-law Holly (Cal) Jorstad; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
