Proud of having attained her CNA certificate (1963) at SIAST in Saskatoon, Irène's first nursing duties began at the 'Royal University Hospital' in Saskatoon. She was, by nature, an empathetic caregiver. Her nursing career brought her to Victoria, BC in 1964 and she finalized her nursing career in Gravelbourg by 1975. Later, from 1989 to 1994, she also enjoyed working at le Service fransaskois d’éducation des adultes and Le Lien at Collège Mathieu in Gravelbourg. The friends that she made there were very special to her, as were her many cherished friends in Gravelbourg, Cathedral City, California, and all with whom she kept in contact with through ‘social media’.
Funeral will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan on 1st Avenue and Main Street, Sunday, May 27th at 2 p.m. and officiated by a dear family friend, Father Maurice Minne.
