Obituary of Ronald Sewell

Ronald Charles Sewell was born in Lafleche, SK on January 11, 1942. Ron spent his entire life in the Lafleche area, taking over the family gravel crushing business and then later, the family farm. Ron was married to Donna Williamson for 27 years. He was a sports ref/ coach/fan for many years as well as an avid fisherman and hunter. Ron spent countless hours travelling to and attending his kids numerous sporting events, watching hockey, baseball, volleyball and whatever else the boys were playing at the time. He loved visits from his sons and grandchildren. In his retirement years, Brent took over the farming while Ron enjoyed watching the wildlife and cows out the window. In December of 2017, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He decided against treatment, and instead moved in with his oldest son Jy and his family at Lac Pelletier. He loved being around his grandsons and once again enjoyed watching the world around him, out the window. When his disease progressed, he spent his last few months at Clover House in Swift Current where his sons spent hours and days at his side until his peaceful passing on May 10, 2018 at the age of 76. He was loved by many and will be sadly missed. Ron leaves to cherish his memory son Jy (Candace) Sewell, grandchildren Tyler, Logan, Austin; son Brent Sewell; son Randy Sewell; son Terry (Jenine) Sewell, grandchildren Cru, Brooklynne, Lincoln; sisters Lorraine Dixon and Carol Bobryk; brother Douglas Sewell. Predeceased by parents Albert Sewell (1967) and Dorothy Sewell (nee Strait, 2012); sister-in-law Susan Sewell (2007); brother-in-law Dennis Bobryk (2008); brother-in-law and friend James Dixon (2015). Graveside Funeral Service was held on Friday, May 18, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at the Lafleche Municipal Cemetery, with Reverend Janelle Shaw officiant. Poem "He Is Gone” was read by Logan Sewell. The eulogy was shared by Candace Sewell and Randy Sewell. Urn bearer was Tyler Foley.
