Obituary of Pat Tallon

Patrick Stanley Tallon of Lafleche, SK passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018, at the age of 71. Pat was born at Lafleche on January 16, 1947, to Stan and Theresa Tallon. They lived on the Lamb farm before buying a house in town. In 1952, the family moved to the farm south of Lafleche, NE 27-07-5-W3. That fall Pat started school at Harwood and completed his Grade 8 there before the school was closed. He attended high school in Lafleche and his Grade 11 class was the first to take an entire grade in the new school. Pat finished school in the spring of 1964. He began farming at fifteen years old by renting his Grandma Corkery's land. In the fall of 1964, Pat purchased his first land from William Hicks, and in 1972 the Jack Pratt land from Allen Nelson. Pat married the love of his life, Betty-Ann Nelson, on April 6, 1974, in Glasgow, MT. After returning from their honeymoon, they stayed with Pat's family until power was connected to their mobile home at NW 35-07-05-W3. They moved in as soon as they had power, even though the water and sewer weren't hooked up until June. Together they raised a family of two girls and two boys, Terri, Linda, Lee, and Dale. He spent many happy hours in gymnasiums and rinks watching volleyball, dance recitals, hockey, and skating carnivals. Pat was thrilled when he was asked to become the trainer for his kid's hockey team, and was on various community boards and committees, as he felt that it was important to contribute. Pat and Betty-Ann enjoyed dancing and curled for years with many dear friends. Pat was proud to be a farmer and his life was filled with happiness. He treasured time spent with his family and adored his grandchildren. Pat's smile and kindness will never be forgotten. Pat is survived by his loving family, wife of 44 years Betty-Ann Tallon (nee Nelson); daughter Terri (Georges) Belcourt, grandchildren Timothy and Joshua; daughter Linda (Wayne) Hynes, grandchildren Kaylee, Brody, Brandon, Hannah; son Lee (Maxine) Tallon, grandchildren Mikayla, Hudson, Turner, Ryder; son Dale (Denise) Tallon, grandchildren Alexa, Paige, Kenzie, Janessa; sister-in-law Beth Tallon; nephew Michael (Amanda) Tallon; nephew Chris (Brittany) Tallon, great nephew Nathan; niece Holly (Brian) Dyck, great-nephew Gabriel, great-niece Charlotte; brother Mel (Carolyn) Tallon.
