Obituary of Donna Voisin

Donna Lou Voisin of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on October 31, 2018, at the age of 87. Donna was born on November 25, 1930, in Congress, SK. She was the third of seven children born to Walfred and Shirley (nee McKay) Pederson. Donna grew up and attended school in Congress. After completing her schooling, Donna worked as a telephone operator in Assiniboia for one year. The following year, Donna married Edward Voisin. They were blessed with five children, Jane, Karen, Judy, Richard, and Kelly. Donna and Edward farmed and raised their family in the Vantage area. Donna was an excellent cook and loved to bake. She made wonderful buns and bread, and her family especially enjoyed when she would make fried bread. Donna always wrote her recipes as only the ingredients, because she said that you would just know when the amount was right. She was a member of the Mossbank Royal Purple, and enjoyed taking part in the ladies afternoon curling in Mossbank. She loved playing cards and taught all of her grandchildren to play. She went on trips to Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, and cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. Donna’s family was very important to her, and she treasured the time that she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Donna will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Donna is survived by her loving family, daughter Jane Handley; daughter Karen Voisin (Danny Rempel); daughter Judy (Art) Weiss; son Richard (Sandra) Voisin; grandchildren Donny, Evan, Karla, Scott & Julie, Lee & Courtney, Donn & Amy, Allan & Morgan, Lori & Dalton, Derek, Leslie, Bryce & Courtney, Melissa; 18 precious great-grandchildren; brother Warren (Bev) Pederson; sister Anne (George) Holman. Donna joins in eternal peace her husband Edward Voisin; daughter Kelly Frobel; granddaughter Christina; granddaughter Sara; parents Walfred and Shirley (nee McKay) Pederson; sisters June (Roy) Cann, Joyce (Gordon) Leonard, Betty (Gerry) Bateson, and Eldeen (Alf) Farwell. Graveside Funeral Service was held on Friday, November 2, 2018, 1:00 p.m., at Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK. Officiant was Wendy Gibson, DLMr. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to the staff at Providence Place and Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital for the compassion and care given to Donna.
