Frank worked hard to build his farm and support his family and community. He was an ardent Wheat Pool member, a committed Co-operative Movement advocate, and a school board member for many years. He was councillor and Reeve of the RM of Glen Bain No. 105 from 1962 to 1968, a charter member of the Glen Bain Lions Club, and a District Governor for District 5CW. Frank was awarded the Lions International Melvin Jones Fellowship Award and a life membership of the Saskatchewan Eye Bank. He was a member of the Glen Bain Recreation Board for 10 years, president of the Glen Bain Historical Society in 1985, and a tutor for the Community College from 1992-1997. These activities were some of his special interests. In 1999, Frank and Katherine moved off the farm to a less busy retirement in Gravelbourg. He was a staunch Catholic, supporting and attending St. Elizabeth and then Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, having joined in 1944. Throughout his farming career Frank was an innovator, introducing irrigation to his farming practice, trying new crops like safflower and mustard, selling them under contract, raising cattle and pigs, as well as performing custom work for neighbors. He truly enjoyed farming and retired reluctantly, always having a keen interest in all things agricultural. Frank’s Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, April 6, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK, with Father Carlos Jimenez celebrant.
