Obituary of Wayne WATSON

WATSON – After a courageous battle with cancer it is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Wayne. Wayne was born in Gravelbourg, SK on February 10, 1946, as the youngest son to Bert and Hazel Watson. Wayne passed away peacefully on August 23, 2013 with his family by his side. Wayne is survived by his soul mate and love of his life, wife of 43 years, Dianne, sons Jason (Heather), Jeff (Carmen), Kelly (Sara), Kevin (Melanie), mother Hazel, brothers Larry (Dorothy), Harry (Sharon). Wayne’s 13 precious grandchildren Mikayla, Colton, Drew, Jake, Connor, Matthew, Ben, Brady, Abigail, Ethan, Samantha, Kyron and Braelyn were his pride and joy. Family was always the most important thing to Wayne and he will also be missed by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, nieces and nephews. Wayne was raised and lived his whole life on the family farm East of Hodgeville. He attended Queen Centre and Hodgeville School. Wayne worked a few different jobs before taking over the family farm which he loved until the day he died. Wayne loved to curl and once his 4 boys arrived he was happy to finally have his curling team. However, the boys took a shine to hockey and Wayne dedicated all of his spare time to running with his boys and taking up temporary residence in the local rinks. Wayne drove school bus for many years and his bus kids were very special to him, as was any child. Wayne always liked to laugh and have a good time, he always had a smile on his face. He was a great friend and always put everyone else first. Wayne loved to play cards and shared many card games with his family and friends. You could always count on Wayne to keep track and holler "short” if you didn’t put into the pot. Wayne loved his community and would always do whatever he could to help. We the family would like to say a huge thank you for being the kind hearted fun-loving person you were and we will miss you forever. Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at the Kelstern Community Church, Kelstern, SK, with Reverend Dion Grimm officiant. The eulogy was shared by Carmen Watson.
