Obituary of Cole Dann

Cole Gordon Dann passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at the age of 19 years. Cole was born on April 20, 1999, in Regina. On January 21, 2013, he was welcomed into Kelly and Tammy Auger’s family. Cole effortlessly fit in with their huge, unique family. His kind, caring, and compassionate heart was always on his sleeve. He had a certain presence about him; he wasn’t usually the loudest but was by far the funniest with his quirky sense of humour. The Auger family loves sports and activities, but Cole was all arms and legs. This meant hockey and volleyball could have been dangerous for his teammates, but basketball and lacrosse were perfect for him. He never cared about winning or losing, he just liked being part of a team. Cole’s true passion was Air Cadets, and there wasn’t one thing he didn’t like about it. He loved the FTX weekends, going flying, and those MRE’s. Cole loved to camp and fish, and especially enjoyed going to Shamrock Park. He was always the first one to start setting up and would help everyone. Cole had many friends, was trusting, listened without judgement, and cared unconditionally. He was always a pleasure to be around and his friends and family adored him. Cole graduated from Ecole Gravelbourg School in 2017 and moved to Moose Jaw to study carpentry at PolyTech. He interned with Robertson’s Construction and then went to work for Nelson Construction. It didn’t take long for his maturity, attitude, and work ethic to excel. He worked hard and always tried to make his life better. Cole was an avid gamer and had a passion for late night Fortnite wins. He loved gaming with his state-of-the-art equipment. Cole usually spent Christmas with Grandpa Armand and Grandma Eveline, but this past year he was with the Auger’s and his Grandma Leona. For two months, he polished his gaming skills in preparation to beat his brothers at a game on his VR. He beamed as he was victorious. Cole had a love of animals, especially snakes, and his fashion choices included Carharts and crocks. Cole worked really hard to save up and purchase the bike of his dreams. He loved this bike and rode the tires off it. Cole was a great young man and his attitude towards life was second to none. He was always willing to receive advice and his willingness to help people and learn was incredible. Love is not an easy feeling to put into words; neither is loyalty, trust, or joy, but Cole was all these things. He loved life completely and lived it intensely. His clumsy, silly attitude was like no other, and his quick wit, fun pranks, and jokes are going to be forever missed. Cole is survived by his loving family, parents Tammy and Kelly Auger; siblings Darby, Jessica, Wade, Koalby, Josh, Tyrese, Justin, Jaxson, Jade, Hailey, Vaughn, Jayne, Stacey, Brennan and Miyah; grandmother Leona Gareau; grandparents Armand and Eveline Gareau; father Joshua Dann; mother Tanya (Paul) Horton; sister Julie; niece Sophia; grandparents Pat and Rita Hawkins, George and Bev Auger. Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, 2:00 p.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK. Celebrant was Sam Hawkins. Special music "Hallelujah” was shared by Danica Auger. Memories were shared by Second Lieutenant Kristy Kelly from the Air Cadets, Vice Principal Tal Blair from Ecole Gravelbourg School, Bob Nelson from Nelson Construction, and Brandee Bourgeois from Child and Family Services. The eulogy was shared by Jessica, Koalby, Charmaine Keck, and Katie Kleckner. Urn bearers were Wade, Koalby, Jaxson, Josh, Justin, Nikolis Kleckner and Brandon Streib. An honour guard was formed by the 20 Freedom Fighter Air Cadet Squadron. Family interment took place at Geneva Cemetery, Palmer, SK. Memorial donations in memory of Cole to the Shamrock Regional Park, c/o Melanie Hawkins, P.O. Box 223, Shamrock, SK SOH 3WO, were greatly appreciated.
