Obituary of Eleanor Schous

Eleanor June Schous of Hodgeville, SK passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the age of 93 years. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Wilfred "Wiff” (1917-1994) and her son Brian "Butch” (1952-1992). She is survived by her sons Bill (Leslie Ann), Dean and Tracy, as well as grandchildren Aron (Robynn), Jarrod (Terri), Garrett (Jami) and Danica Watson (Aaron). She will also be missed by her great grandchildren Matt Pierce, Ashton, Tucker, Braydon, Ryan and William. Eleanor was born in Fillmore, Saskatchewan on June 3, 1925 and moved to Hodgeville before her first birthday. She would spend her entire life there. She was active playing softball and with the Royal Purple. However, Eleanor was at her best when it came to holiday meals, Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. There was nothing she enjoyed more than overfeeding the boys and their families, never sitting down to eat herself so that she could make sure everyone else had a full plate and then sending boxes of leftovers home as "care packages.” We will forever miss the pumpkin pies, the cinnamon bun trays and the pails of cookies. Funeral Service was held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at the Hodgeville Community Centre. The eulogy was shared by Dean Schous. Urn bearers were Aron Schous, Robynn Schous, and Eleanor’s great grandchildren. An honour guard was formed by the Royal Purple. Memorial donations in memory of Eleanor to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, 200-4545 Parliament Ave., Regina, SK S4W 0G3 were greatly appreciated.
