Obituary of Germaine Cornet
Germaine Cornet passed away peacefully on August 6, 2019, a few weeks before her 97th birthday, in Ottawa, Ontario. Born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, August 29, 1922, daughter of Philippe and Maria Remillard. Sister of Richard Remillard (Marguerite), Lucille Braconnier (Marcel) and Suzanne Charron (Roger). Sister-in-law
of Pierre and Rita Cornet. Beloved wife of Jean Cornet (1998), and mother to Suzanne (Jean) Lepage and Monique (Dave) Pullyblank. Grandmother to Chantal (Emmanuel) Carreel, Marc Lepage (Stephanie), Tim Pullyblank (Erin) and welcomed in Heaven by Michelle Pullyblank, Laurent and Eric Lepage. Great grandmother to Simon, Lucie and Remi Carreel, Clement, Albane and Adele Lepage, Tyson and Elle Pullyblank. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews. After Teachers College, Germaine arrived in Val Marie, Saskatchewan and taught there as well as in Rosetown and Swift Current for many years. She was a devoted teacher. In Val Marie, Mom and Dad shared values of faith, French culture and community involvement, evident in their efforts towards the Grasslands Park. At retirement they moved to Ottawa to be closer to their daughter, Monique and family. She enjoyed many years in Ottawa, meeting new friends and playing bridge. The highlights were the trips to France to be with Suzanne and family. Friends and family are invited to a funeral mass which will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2019, 2:00 p.m., at Piche-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapel in Gravelbourg, Sask. Interment Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foyer d'Youville in Gravelbourg or a charity of your choice.
