Obituary of Katherine Elizabeth Mulatz
Katherine passed away peacefully on March 10, 2012 in Regina, SK. She was predeceased by her parents Lena and Alf Schlageter; sisters Lena Casswell, Hedy Cote and Irma in infancy; brothers Karl and Henry. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 67 years Frank; children Janet (Don) Barber, Mark (Pat) Mulatz, Greg (Eunice) Mulatz, Ralph (Debbie McDonald) Mulatz, Pat Winsor De Tremauden (Lee De Tremauden), Adrian (Diana) Mulatz, Kathy (Chris) Gervais; grandchildren Michelle Morin, Jennifer Barber, Geoffrey Barber, Sara Toth, Jane Mulatz, Karen Mulatz, Kirk Mulatz, Blake Mulatz, Frank Jr. Mulatz, Tara Winsor, Aaron Winsor, Ryan Mulatz, Curtis Mulatz, Tyson Mulatz, Patricia Gervais, Stephanie Gervais, Erin Gervais, Catherine Gervais; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Katherine was born on June 19, 1924, and grew up at Arbuthnot, SK. She attended Kramer school and married Frank Mulatz in 1945. They farmed and raised their family in the Glen Bain area until retiring to Gravelbourg in 2001. They moved to Regina in late 2011.
A prayer service was held Tuesday March 13, 2012 at 7:30 from Piché-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapel, 100 5th Ave. E., Gravelbourg, SK. Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK, with Father Joseph Strohhofer celebrant. The eulogy was shared by Don Barber. Readers were Adrian Mulatz and Pat Mulatz. Intentions were given by Patricia Winsor De Tremauden. Offertory gifts were presented by Sara Toth and family. Our Lady of the Assumption Church Choir was accompanied by organist Leona Bourgeois. Active pallbearers were Blake Mulatz, Frank Mulatz, Ryan Mulatz, Curtis Mulatz, Tyson Mulatz and Aaron Winsor. Interment took place at St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Memorial tributes in memory of Katherine to the The Lions Vision Program, 3716 50th Ave., Lloydminster, SK S9V 0P1, were greatly appreciated.
